This year we are celebrating a special anniversary: our valued colleague Ana Melciu has been part of the Adventics/Scan2Lead team for five years! With her passion for sales, her expertise in the trade fair industry and her tireless commitment, Ana has made a significant contribution to the success of our company in recent years. In this interview, she gives us an insight into her beginnings, her biggest highlights and her vision for the future. A big thank you, Ana, for your great work and your inspiring personality – here’s to the next successful years!
Ana, congratulations on your 5th anniversary at Adventics / Scan2Lead! How do you feel after all these years in the team?
Ana: Thank you very much. Even after more than 5 years at Adventics, I feel just as comfortable as I did on the first day. We have the nicest colleagues here who support each other and always have fun together.
Can you tell us a bit about your start at Adventics / Scan2Lead? What were your first impressions?
Ana: I knew from the very first interaction with Adventics that it would be an absolute match. Since I had already been with Messe München for years, I already had a lot of industry knowledge. That was a great advantage for the position. But what was particularly positive for my start here was the compatibility on a human level with the management and of course with the team members who supported me from day 1. What I still appreciate here is the fact that you can continuously learn a lot from the other team members and also from our managing directors.
What have been the biggest professional highlights for you in the last five years?
Ana: A top highlight for me was the restart of the presence fairs after the pandemic, the joy & enthusiasm of everyone involved when things finally got going again.
Apart from that, it was definitely exciting to grow into the role of Senior Account Manager. Such a position in sales was new to me. Over time, it has become increasingly clear that this job is absolutely right for me, as I particularly like both the numbers and the interactions with customers. I have been very pleased to have won numerous new events for the use of Scan2Lead over the last 5 years.
I also enjoy working with all our trade fair organizers. I also enjoy the opportunity to sell digital products, just as I did back then.
Which trade fair(s) do you particularly remember? Were there any special experiences or challenges that have stayed with you?
Ana: I love all our trade fairs… I particularly remember AGRITECHNICA, bauma, EuroShop, drupa and The Smarter E Europe. My favorite trade fairs are often those whose exhibitors are particularly digital-savvy and take the topic of lead tracking seriously. At the same time, it’s always a highlight when exhibitors who have previously worked exclusively with analog technology switch to digital lead tracking for the first time. I particularly like it when they take the time to understand Scan2Lead in depth in advance and prepare their sales teams in the best possible way.
What makes working in sales at Adventics / Scan2Lead special for you?
Ana: Firstly, I identify strongly with our product, Scan2Lead. And then I love dealing with people from numerous industries and helping them celebrate successful trade fair appearances by using Scan2Lead. The many positive feedbacks from our customers are a continuous motivation, not only for me but for our entire company. Here I also have the opportunity to optimize or design work processes, contribute ideas and actively participate in the further development of our solutions. I find it particularly fulfilling when my suggestions are implemented directly and create real added value both internally and for our customers. This combination of creative scope, direct customer contact and the opportunity to achieve tangible results is what makes working in sales at Scan2Lead so special for me.

Looking ahead to the next five years, what are your goals, both personally and professionally?
Ana: I not only want to remain a reliable partner for existing customers, but also open up new markets and sectors. Personally, I see my goal as continuing to develop in sales and taking customer service and satisfaction to the next level through innovative approaches.
Which trends or developments in the event and trade fair industry do you observe particularly closely and how do they influence your work?
Ana: AI is omnipresent everywhere these days, including in the trade fair industry, of course, and is playing an increasingly important role, be it in the automation of processes, in the analysis of visitor data or in the personalized approach to trade fair visitors. These developments open up new opportunities to make trade fair appearances even more efficient and successful. For my work, this means always staying up to date in order to provide our customers with the best possible advice and offer them innovative solutions such as AI-supported analyses or tools for their trade fair appearances.
What does the term “customer satisfaction” mean to you and how do you help to ensure it?
Ana: Customer satisfaction has always been very important to me. I always give 100% and more for our customers. I also make sure that they can rely on us and that they benefit from a super-fast service wherever possible. Cordiality and authenticity should also come first; all customers should feel that they are taken seriously.
For me, customer satisfaction is not just a goal, but an attitude that I live by in every customer contact.
How important is teamwork for you in sales, and what do you particularly appreciate about your team at Adventics / Scan2Lead?
Ana: Extremely important. Here at Adventics, we support each other every day and can always rely on each other. We have a lot of fun together, which always helps.
