Does Scan2Lead meet the requirements of the GDPR? May the captured contacts be contacted and emailed after the trade fair? May newsletters be sent to them? The topic of data protection is playing an increasingly important role for visitors, exhibitors and organisers. Read here why you can use Scan2Lead to record visitor data in absolute compliance with data protection regulations.
In addition to all measures for the technical implementation of a high level of data protection, each visitor to the trade fair will be informed by the organiser during registration (data protection and general terms and conditions) that their data may be passed on to exhibitors as part of lead tracking. Furthermore, the visitor actively holds out his admission badge for scanning during each individual scanning process and documents through this action (“implied action”) his consent to his personal data being passed on to the respective exhibitor. This process design has been examined and confirmed by several specialist lawyers. If the visitor generally objects to the forwarding of his data, the data record will be blocked in the Scan2Lead database and you as the exhibitor will see a notice “no data available” or similar. The visitor can object to the forwarding of data both during registration and at a later point in time. As an exhibitor, you therefore have the security of receiving the personal contact data of your visitors in compliance with the law.
One of the biggest benefits of digital lead capture is faster and qualified follow-up after the fair. You may use the captured visitor data to thank your visitors for visiting your stand and to send them the requested documents, offers or information. For the inclusion of the scanned contact data in a newsletter distribution list, we recommend obtaining separate consent from the visitors in advance or informing them afterwards and then obtaining confirmation.
